My Informative Interview with Wanita Folks

I decided to do an interview with a fellow mommy WaNita Folks to talk about her family and aspirations in life. She is my wonder woman of January!

Me: Where are you from?

WaNita: I’m from Montgomery, Alabama

Me: How many children do you have?

WaNita: I have two sons and a grandson on the way.

Me: Well congratulations on your grandbaby! How old are your sons?

WaNita: They are 17 and 20 years old.

Me: What does life consist of at the moment?

WaNita: I have a full-time job working Monday through Friday. I’ve been working at this job for 17 years this coming March. I want to retire and work for myself.

Me: What type of business do you want to have?

WaNita: I want to write ebooks for single working mothers.

Me: Wow! That’s an awesome thing to do. I know a lot of single mothers that would have a lot to say about raising a family and working fulltime. What made you want to start your own business?

WaNita: I’ve been sitting behind a desk for 17 years straight and it has been hard not being able to be at home with my children. When they were sick I had to leave them with my mother and that was too much to bear.

Me: What advice would you give to the working moms?

WaNita: I would say, “Work from home”. That’s it!

Me: It’s just as simple as that. Find your passion and just do it. How do you balance your work and personal life?

WaNita: You have to have a plan and organize yourself.

Me: Not having a plan is like trying to find your way in the dark without a flashlight. What made you decide to work with single mothers?

WaNita: I know the struggle of balancing work and personal life. I want them to know that you can find a balance.

Me: What does financial freedom look like to you?

WaNita: Paying bills with money left over. Ha!

Me: HaHa! Please say it again! If you could tell your younger self something, what would it be?

WaNita: Start your own business as soon as your done with High School or College.

Me: What your biggest why?

WaNita: My biggest why is leaving a legacy for my children and grandson. Also, I want to be able to tell other mothers that you can make it and that has an impact on their lives.

Me: Thank you so much for allowing me to interview you, it has been a pleasure.

I’m so happy that I was able to interview WaNita and tell her story. I will definitely take her advice to heart and continue to follow my passion in life. We often go through life like a robot and only doing what’s necessary to survive. I don’t want to live like this. I want to live in my purpose right now!
